The idea for a bagpipe band began during the July 4th 1994 Veterans Appreciation Day in Burton. That's when Dale Bartholomew heard Bainbridge Township resident John Mackey, a Maple Heights police officer, play "Amazing Grace."

Bartholomew spoke to Mackey and told him he would like to get a bagpipe group started in Geauga. However, due to injuries Mackey sustained in the line of duty, that idea was put on hold until March of 1995 when the newly-formed group began practicing in the American Legion Hall.

Beginning and experienced pipers and drummers are welcome.
