Senior Guest Program

If you have been an Ohio resident for the last year, and are either 55 of years of age and retired or 60 years of age, you qualify for Kent's Senior Guest Program.

Any academic classes, provided you have met the prerequisites, are available to you without a grade or credits. You may register for a class the first day it is offered as long as space is available. If a class is filled, it would not be open for the Senior Guest Program.

The average age of students at Kent's seven regional campuses is 26. Classes are open to any students with a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Loans, scholarships and grants are available to the regional campuses.

Student services and activities are numerous, and many target the adult student. Student government, intramural sports, music, theater, NEXUS, and A.N.T.S. are a few of the activities offered at the various campuses.

Scholarship Walkway and Garden

The walkway project, to benefit students and the community, will be constructed at the Kent State University Geauga Campus, in Burton.

Individuals, families, and businesses will be able to purchase engraved bricks to be placed in the walkway, and designate a Geauga County school system to be honored.

As each school system reaches a goal of 250 bricks, it will be awarded an annual $1,000 scholarship to Kent-Geauga.
Kent-Geauga hopes to provide up to seven scholarships annually, as well as internships with Geauga County businesses, through a new program called the Kent-Geauga Scholarship Challenge. Each high school will award the scholarship and an internship with with a Geauga County corporation to a deserving student who may not otherwise be able to afford a college education.

Individual bricks may be purchased for $50, and corporate bricks for $100. Bricks may be engraved with a family name, business name, or in memory of a loved one. Purchase of a brick is tax-deductible.

For further information, contact Jeff at Kent State University Geauga Campus Scholarship Challenge at 834-4187.
