Become a Special Touch volunteer

and talk to women in your community about breast cancer detection -- when chances for survival approach 100%.

The American Cancer Society will train women in Geauga, Lake, and Ashtabula counties to become breast health educators through the Special Touch program. Special Touch is a statewide initiative designed to increase the chances of finding breast cancer at its earliest stages.

In addition to attending the training, Instructors will conduct 4 presentations (30- to 60-minutes in length) throughout the year, and learn the latest news about breast cancer screening and treatment.

For more information and class dates, call the American Cancer Society at 1-888-ACS-OHIO ext. 28.

Volunteer Speakers Needed

The Society is currently expanding its Speakers Bureau, and is in need of both experienced and novice speakers. Especially needed are speakers familiar with the areas of breast cancer, tobacco use, secondhand smoke, nutrition and physical fitness.

Audio-visual materials are also available through the American Cancer Society. For more information, call Genevieve O'Keefe at 286-9585 or 1 888 ACS-OHIO.
