There were two students present from Notre Dame High School who were attending the meeting for a government class project. Mr. Eberly spoke briefly about the efficiency of local government.

Patrick J. Cavanagh called Newbury trustee Majeski to discuss a streetlight for the area of Messenger and Ravenna Roads and learned that Mr. Majeski has a broken back. We will send a get well card to him.
John A. Eberly called Joni Stusek, the Program Administrator for the Department of Community and Economic Development, to begin the phase B portion of Adam Hall and left a message for her. He will continue to try to reach her.
Denis D. Squire, Clerk, left warrants and purchase orders for signatures.
The trustees discussed the ZIP Code situation briefly and the Greatwood Lane lawsuit. Susan Plavcan will check on the date the trial is expected.
Cebridge Connections provided a map of Auburn highlighted with their coverage areas. Susan Plavcan will send a copy and a note to Lisa Michaels at Adelphia as discussed previously.
The trustees received a police report from the Sheriffs department for the township for the month of January 2005.
ADAM HALL:
John G. Johnson Construction Company was the low bidder at $498,300. The trustees were impressed with their good references, projects, and their reputation. The re-bid package included three items as additions/deletions that the trustees discussed. They do want to move the HVAC rooftop units to the ground. That item was a $4,100 deduction on the John G. Johnson bid bringing their price to $494,200.
Motion by Gene McCune seconded by Patrick J. Cavanagh to enter into a contract with John G. Johnson Construction Company to complete Part A of Adam Hall at a price of $494,200. VOTE: McCune, yes; Cavanagh, yes; Eberly, yes. The motion passed.
Motion by Gene McCune seconded by Patrick J. Cavanagh to encumber $494,200 from the Land Acquisition Fund for the contract with John G. Johnson. VOTE: McCune, yes; Cavanagh, yes; Eberly, yes. The motion passed.
The trustees noted that this event is a first for Auburn Township. This is the biggest project to date and they noted that the funds are from estate taxes and the building was a gift. The funds are not from collected real estate taxes.
The next phase will be the finishing of the bathrooms and paved and stripped handicapped parking for which we have received $50,000 in federal grant money. The parking lot of Adam Hall will be the largest parking lot in Auburn when completed. It will be quite an asset to the community for large meetings.
The trustees signed the contract and six men in attendance witnessed their signatures. The contract will be forwarded to John G. Johnson for their signature and then to the Assistant Prosecutor for his signature.
The trustees set March 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. to continue the ZC2004-06 (Oil & Gas Wells and Misc.) proposed amendment.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Jack Trethewey asked about Gordon Petersen being named project manager for the Adam Hall project. The trustees stated that he was named project manager for Phase I which was refurbishing the original building and site work on the parking lot. The trustees interviewed three men in executive session regarding project management for the new building addition. It was determined that at this point with the amount of work already completed on the old building and the parking lots, the architect will act as project manager with the general contractor. An additional manager is not necessary.
The trustees discussed a letter form Coyne Textiles stating a 7% raise in prices. The township will look for a competitive service.
Motion by John A. Eberly seconded by Patrick Cavanagh to adjourn the meeting. VOTE: McCune, yes; Cavanagh, yes; Eberly, yes. The motion passed. The meeting was adjourned.
