MAINTENANCE REPORT:

Roads:

Maintenance crews have been completing standard maintenance for this time of year.  Roads have been plowed and graveled as needed.  Building maintenance continues as well as vehicle maintenance.

Several complaints have been received of broken mailboxes and posts.  Residents were informed that the weight of the heavy snow off the snowplow edge is responsible for the damage.  Huntsburg Township will not replace mailboxes or poles unless it is the direct result of a plow or truck hitting the box.  Drivers always know when they have destroyed a box and pole with the vehicle and will replace it.

Hunt Road north of State Route 322 will need a 100-foot apron this summer.  A longer apron off  322 will help to eliminate salt damage to Hunt Road.

PROCLAMATION

APRIL 2007 AS GRANGE MONTH

Whereas:  For 140 years, the Grange has sought to advance the interest of farmers, rural Americans and our nation’s families, regardless of where they might live, through the simple but powerful idea that by working together we can accomplish much for our communities; and

Whereas:  Voluntary association with the Grange not only provides the benefits of economic and political cooperation for its members, but it also elevates their character by providing social, cultural and educational programs, along with opportunities for personal growth; and

Whereas:  The Grange increases the influence of each of its members by giving them the opportunity to serve their community through projects and programs that make a difference in the lives of children, youth and our neighbors in need of assistance; and

Whereas:  Huntsburg Grange #2541 in Huntsburg, Ohio has served this community.

Now, therefore be it resolved that April 2007 be proclaimed as GRANGE MONTH in recognition of the contributions made to Huntsburg by the Huntsburg Grange over their many years of faithful service, and we hereby urge and encourage our friends and neighbors to join us in this well-deserved recognition.
