A special joint meeting of several townships was held at Montville Community Center.
The proper papers were notified.
Present at the meeting were Trustees from Montville, Thompson and Huntsburg Township. Trustees Adams, Kothera & Seliskar were in attendance. Also in attendance were State Senator Tim Grendell, Dino DiSanto representing Steven LaTourette’s office and a representative from Matthew Dolan’s office. There were approximately 250 residents from all three townships as well.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the 138kV Proposed Power Line by First Energy as presented to the public on March 6 in Huntsburg Township and March 7 in Thompson Township. Two routes have been proposed by First Energy, one along Clay Street the other along State Route 528. Everyone present expressed concern that his proposed 138kV line should not be built along either route proposed. The residents in attendance urged all officials in attendance to work with First Energy and find a better alternate route.
Township officials, County Commissioners, Representative LaTourette, State Senator Grendell, and State Representative Dolan will hold a joint meeting in the very near future to discuss an alternate route. First Energy will be asked to send a representative to discuss this important issue.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.\
