Bill Blue, chairperson, called the meeting to order. Other members present: Joan Jemison. Edna Davis was excused. Others present: Chief Joe Stehlik, Lindsay Spidalieri, Dispatch Supervisor, Bethann Petronio, Admin. Assist.

AGENDA: Parking on streets
MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 01, 2007: There were no corrections to the minutes. Jemison made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Blue seconded. ROLL CALL: All Yeas.
PERSONNEL:
1. Still looking for more part-time dispatchers and police officers.
EQUIPMENT:
1. New cruiser will be arriving soon. Will get lettering, etc. done at Middlefield Sign.
2. Received free laser device for all the safety programs that the department conducts.
3. Would like to purchase new computer aided dispatch equipment.
4. This equipment is being used by the county sheriff’s department
5. Would be an unfeasible amount if we do on our own but if we are under an umbrella contract with the county, the cost would be $27,755. Chief stressed to the committee that it would be this cost. There is an ordinance on the Council agenda this evening for that amount.
6. This system would allow for a sharing between police organizations.
7. County would supply computer units in the police cruisers.
8. Village would be responsible for equipment in our dispatch center.
9. Software upgrades would be paid for by the county.
10. Chief highly recommends going with this program.
Blue made a motion to recommend this new program to Council. Jemison seconded. All in favor.
VALLEY ENFORCEMENT GROUP:
1. The new county aided dispatch program will take the place of this program.
2. No need to consider joining this group at this time.
OTHER:
1. Old alarm equipment is slowly being removed from the dispatch center.
2. Will hopefully be out by the end of the month.
WRITING CLASS:
1. Looking at starting this class in May or June.
DISPATCH TRAINING MANUAL:
1. Manual is being completed and fine tuned to include the Amber alert plan
2. Using the new manual in training part-time dispatchers.
PARKING ON SIDE STREETS:
1. This has been a problem especially on Grove Street.
2. Will be looking at abolishing all street parking.
3. Would be special permission granted for certain events.
4. There have been no significant amount of accidents due to street parking.
5. This is a problem during day time snowplowing.
DISASTER PLAN:
1. The village currently has a disaster plan for the wastewater treatment plant.
2. Need to have a more detailed plan for other areas of the village.
