Bill Blue, chairperson, called the meeting to order. Other members present: Joan Jemison, Edna Davis. Others present: Chief Joe Stehlik, Bethann Petronio, Admin. Assist.

AGENDA: Mileage reimburse increase, position of corporal, additional new trailer
MINUTES OF APRIL 5, 2007: There were no corrections to the minutes. Jemison made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Blue seconded. ROLL CALL: All Yeas. One Abstain
PERSONNEL:
1. Still looking for more part-time dispatchers and police officers.
2. Have a few applications that are being considered.
EQUIPMENT:
1. New computer aided dispatch program will be online by Memorial Day weekend.
2. Dispatchers will be trained by then.
3. Dispatch center is going well with having a supervisor
OTHER:
1. John Burger has been ill and asked for a time extension on removing all of the equipment in the dispatch center
2. Committee agreed to give him until the end of June.
3. Still 30 or 40 alarms under contract
WRITING CLASS:
1. First class will be Saturday, May 19 from 4-6 p.m.
DISPATCH TRAINING MANUAL:
1. Manual has been completed and now writing sections for specific personnel areas in the dispatch center.
2. Considering doing six month evaluations on dispatchers.
PARKING ON SIDE STREETS:
1. Will be looking at abolishing all street parking.
2. There have been accidents due to street parking.
3. Traffic count showed about 1000 cars on way a day on Grove St.
EMERGENCY PLAN:
1. The village currently has a disaster plan for the wastewater treatment plant.
2. Chief Reed and Sgt. Fabian have been working on a disaster plan. Will continue to work on this plan for presentation at the next meeting.
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT INCREASE:
1. The current rate paid by the Village for mileage reimbursement is 30 cents per mile. The IRS
is showing a rate of 48 cents per mile.
2. Committee felt that it should be in ordinance form to state that the mileage reimbursement
will always be whatever the IRS states.
3. Chief to get amounts of mileage reimbursements for the year.
PURCHASE OF ANOTHER TRAILER:
1. Recently purchase a camper trailer from the state for $2,000 to be used for training simulator or class room.
2. Would like to purchase another one with maybe slide out sides to be used as training class room. Possibly have it at the service garage behind the water tower.
3. Committee felt it was a good idea.
POSITION OF CORPORAL:
1. Would like to establish the position of corporal in the department.
2. There would be no increase in pay and would be a title only.
3. Committee was in favor of establishing this position.
